1st day
– Arrive in Apulia, check-in at the hotel, free evening,
dinner and overnight stay.
2nd day

Breakfast. Visit the town
centre of Bari and Castello Pranzo. In the afternoon guided
tour to Castel del Monte, recognized as a worldwide human
heritage monument by the UNESCO. Back to the hotel. Free
evening. Dinner.
3rd day – Breakfast.
Visit the small town of Alberobello and admire its typical
trullos considered by some the symbol of Apulia. A brief
history of the town. Packed lunch. Free evening for a longer
visit and discovery of the town and for buying local art and
crafts objects.
4rd day
– Breakfast. Visit Ostuni and listen to a short history of the
town. Enjoy the panoramic views and visit the cathedral.
Lunch. In the afternoon visit the speleological centre of
Castellana. Dinner and overnight stay.
5th day
– Breakfast. Visit the town centre of Lecce and see all the
major sights: Santa Croce, Palazzo dei Celestini, Palazzo
Adorno, Piazza San Oronzo, the Church del Rosario, the Church
San Biagio…. Lunch. In the afternoon visit other monuments,
including the city walls and the main gates of the city.
Dinner and overnight stay.
6th day
– Breakfast. Visit Otranto, known as Italy’s gate to the East,
its town centre, the city walls, the bastions, etc. You may
buy some souvenirs and some pieces of local art and crafts.
Lunch. In the afternoon visit the cathedral with its chapel
where you can see the bones of Otranto’s 800 martyrs, listen
to a short introduction to the event, visit the crypt and the
mosaic. Dinner and overnight stay.
7th day
– Breakfast. Visit Gallipoli, “the beautiful town”, the
ancient town, the bastions. You may buy some souvenirs and
some pieces of local art and crafts. Lunch. In the afternoon
visit the cathedral and admire its Baroque façade. Dinner and
overnight stay.

1st day
– Arrive in the Salento, check-in at the hotel, free evening.
Dinner and overnight stay.
2nd day
– Breakfast. Guided tour of the town centre of Lecce, visit
the major Baroque-style monuments. Lunch at the hotel. In the
afternoon, on request, you can visit the Museum Sigismondo
Castromediano where many remains of ancient eras (Messapi and
Roman periods) are collected and preserved. Dinner. You have
the evening free so that you may visit Lecce by night and
enjoy wonderful enchanting scenes created by light and
shadows.
3rd day
– Breakfast. Visit the town centre of Otranto and its main
monuments, the cathedral, the bastions, the gates to the town.
Packed lunch. Visit the cathedral and its chapel where the
bones of Otranto’s 800 martyrs are shown and listen to a short
history of the event, visit the crypt and the mosaic (the
biggest in the world) created by the monk Pantaleone. Back to
the hotel. Dinner. Free evening.
4th day
– Breakfast. Visit Gallipoli, its town centre, the cathedral.
Packed lunch. In the afternoon visit Santa Maria di Leuca,
where you’ll admire some villas dating back to the beginning
of the 20th century (just the outside), the monumental
stairway arriving at the sanctuary of Santa Maria de Finibus
Terrae, where you will enjoy a wonderful panoramic view. Back
to the hotel. Dinner.

Cathedral. Lunch. In the afternoon visit the Cathedral in Ruvo
di Puglia and the Jatta Museum where you can admire a
wonderful collection of classical vases – one representing the
death of Thalos, a mythical figure, the protector of Crete.
Dinner.
3rd day
– Sightseeing tour of Barletta, including a visit to the
Cathedral Santa Maria Maggiore, Chiesa del Santo Sepolcro, the
Colosso di Barletta (a 4,5-metre-high bronze statue dating
back to the IV century, probably representing the Emperor
Valentiniano from Costantinopoli). Packed lunch. In the
afternoon, visit Trani, the town centre, the Romanesque
Cathedral - a wonderful example of Romanesque style in Apulia.
Dinner.
4th day
– Tour of Troia, including a visit to the Romanesque Cathedral
with its wonderful rose window and its bronze door created by
Oderisio da Benevento. Packed lunch. In the afternoon back to
the hotel. Dinner.

(palazzo Sticchi, Villa Raffaella…). Lunch. In the afternoon
you’ll visit Santa Maria di Leuca, situated at the farthest
part of Italy’s heel, and some noble villas (villa Mellacqua,
villa Meridiana..), the monumental stairway, the sanctuary of
Maria “De finibus terrae”. Dinner.
3rd day
– Visit Lecce and some villas. Lunch. In the afternoon you’ll
visit some noble villas situated in the seaside resort Santa
Maria al Bagno. Dinner. Overnight stay .

LECCESE-VASTE-VITIGLIANO-LECCE)
1st day
- Visit the Messapian town of Muro Leccese. In the afternoon
visit the Messapian town of Vaste, Vaste museum, Messapian
“neviera” in Vitigliano.
2nd day
- Visit Minervino, an old Salento centre; the church Madonna
delle Grazie. In the afternoon explore the nearby villages of
Cocumola and Specchia with their monuments, some historical
background of the area will be given.
3rd day
- Visit the cove in Porto Badisco where legend has it Aeneas
landed; the city of Otranto; historical background on
Messapian influence will be given. Explore Messapian
settlement in Torre Pinta. In the afternoon explore the
excavations in Messapian town of Roca.
4th day
- Visit the “Sigismondo Castromediano” museum which houses a
vast collection of ceramics and artefacts from Messapian
civilisation. In the afternoon stroll around Lecce’s historic
centre.

– Breakfast. Visit the megalithic monument in Vitigliano,
probably a place where snow was collected, and the menhir
“vardare” in Diso. Packed lunch. In the afternoon visit the
megalithic monument “centopietre” in Patù. Dinner. Overnight
stay.
4th day

4days/3nigths
(THE STONES IN MATERA AND THE

– Breakfast. Visit Metaponto, the archaeological park and the
Tavole Palatine, an ancient Greek temple dating back to the VI
century b.C. Packed lunch. In the afternoon you’ll visit the
museum in Metaponto where several finds (coins, pottery…) -
dating back to Greek times and found during the excavations of
the city – are collected. Back to the hotel. Free evening.
